Djarot Describes Benefits of Big Data

Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat said, Big Data is important for Jakarta Provincial Government as a reference in determining the policy direction.

"Big Data Utilization is not only focused on how to analyze data only, but also the right method in data collection," he expressed, when he became a panelist in Big Data Bank Indonesia National Seminar with theme "Digital Globalization: Optimization of Big Data Utilization for Acceleration of Economic Growth", Wednesday (8/9).

Acting Governor Discussed Big Data Development

According to him, data collection has been done through various sources, such as surveys, field investigations, reports, electronic files, databases and applications that have now been developed.

He stated, several applications are used for data collection. Among them are individual recording used by Bappeda and Social Dept., to record the targeted beneficiaries of social assistance.

To maintain the quality of data and information collected, his party does repair some problems that are often faced in the field. Then dumping data in non-electronic format, where everything is refined into an electronic format.

"The quality of data input should we improve is through the creation and development of applications, thus it can maintain the consistency of data input," he closed.
